I do write differently knowing that my kids will read it when the thing I want to write about is their story as much (or more) than it is mine. I have a teenager right now and I would love to write more about the experience of parenting in this phase but I don't because I want to respect his privacy and his future digital footprint. With both my kids and my husband, I don't post anything about them without their consent, so that does sometimes change what I might write.
Thinking through this now in my own work - I don’t worry about writing on my kids because I’m not writing the entirety of their lives - I’m writing my own. I do think this through about writing my own childhood and whether I even want to include family that way.
I so appreciate this and also am like hasnt the last 3 years been the season of intermittent childcare lol ??!!! but no summer is no effing joke.
Lol yes and yes

Ah yes. My personal favorite are the two weeks between school graduation and the start of camp in the same building. Why?!
Maddening!

It's hard! I always feel like it's impossible to write about my life without including other people...
